Common questions

Is this the same as picking a random number from 1 to 6?
Yes. A six-sided die and a random number from 1 to 6 are the same thing: each of the six results has exactly a one in six chance, about 16.7%. This page shows it as a die; the random number page shows it as a plain number. Use whichever reads better on your screen.
Is the roll actually fair?
Yes. Every roll is generated on your own device by the browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same source used for encryption keys, with any bias toward particular numbers removed. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing can be fixed in advance.
Can I roll two dice, or a different die?
This page is locked to one six-sided die on purpose, so there is nothing to set up. For two dice for a board game, or any other die from a d4 to a d100, the main dice roller has them all a tap away.
